Formed in 2020, Wild Spelks Is a vessel for the solo material of musician/producer, Jonathon Sabiston. What started as a collection of voice notes and demos, expanded exponentially upon the release of debut single, ‘The Happy Places’. Picking up support from the likes of Clash MagazineCloutNarc Magazine and Yack Magazine, the project quickly developed into a full live band culminating in selling out their debut headline show in Newcastle’s Bobiks

Eager to maintain the upward trajectory, Wild Spelks followed up their notable debut with the release of successful single ‘Dreamer’. Sabiston’s ability to write hooky, scuzzy alt.rock again saw a swell of press running from Punktastic to Classic Rock Magazine. Now, Wild Spelks have returned as they prepare to release latest single Hail Mary. A song about religion, young love and drinking too much, the track is characterised by a bass-heavy, punchy chorus; a counterpoint to the downtrodden lyrical content. All recorded and performed by Sabiston himself, Hail Mary is a nod to Bleed America era Jimmy Eat World and Green album era Weezer

Hail Mary will be the final single release of the year for Wild Spelks with Sabiston heading back into the studio to complete his debut EP, due for release later in 2022.
Hail Mary  is out on 6th May 2022 via Montgomery Records.
